Bunkers is among a growing number of Dayton-area restaurants to reopen or announce plans to reopen since state officials approved the sale of takeout cocktails.

The restaurant began offering carryout food immediately after Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Dr. Amy Acton, the state's health director, on March 15 ordered all bars and restaurants to close dining rooms.

A week later on March 22, however, Bunkers announced on Facebook that it would shut down its carryout service.

Over the years, Best of Dayton voters have rewarded Bunkers in several categories, including Dayton’s “best wings” and “best sports bar” categories.
It placed second in this year's contest in the "best craft-beer bar" category and first in the "best trivia" category.
