A downtown Dayton coffee shop is offering free coffee today, Monday Jan. 6, to celebrate the new year and the shop’s return from a brief hiatus.

Third Perk Coffeehouse & Wine Bar at 46 W. Fifth St. at Ludlow Street is offering one 12-ounce cup of brewed coffee free today until close. The shop's web site says it is open until 5 p.m.

The coffee shop is entering its fifth year of business. The downtown location had shut down Dec. 21-27 for a holiday break.

Third Perk also operates a Third Perk Express location at the Dayton Mall. The free-coffee offer is good only at the downtown Dayton location.
