Jonathan Powell, the leading scorer for the Centerville High School boys basketball team this past season as a junior, has narrowed his college choices to six schools.

On Tuesday, Powell told Joe Tipton, of On3Sports, he will decide between Clemson, Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, and Xavier.

Powell is the top recruit in Ohio in the 2024 class, according to On3Sports. He’s No. 93 in the country. Rivals.com ranks him 114th in the country. He’s No. 98 in the 247Sports.com composite rankings and second in Ohio behind Damarius Owens, of Western Reserve.

Powell, a 6-foot-6 guard, averaged 16.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in his first season at Centerville. The Elks finished 25-4 and lost to Pickerington Central in the Division I state semifinals at UD Arena.

Powell played his first two seasons at Chaminade Julienne. He averaged 16.8 points as a sophomore and 13.1 as a freshman when he helped the Eagles reach the Division II state tournament.
