Brooks, whose nickname is “Phat Phat,” received an offer from Butler in October. Michigan offered him a scholarship in May, and he received an offer from Michigan State last March.
Brooks ranks 126th in the class of 2024, according to 247Sports.com, and 120th, according to Rivals.com.
This is the second offer Dayton has made to a 2024 recruit in recent weeks. Kyle Greene Jr., a 6-foot-2 point guard from Pace Academy in Atlanta, Ga., announced an offer on Jan. 16.
Dayton does not have a commitment from a member of the 2024 class. It has one player in its 2023 class: Jaiun Simon, a 6-foot-7 forward from Mableton, Ga., who committed in October and signed in November.
Durral Brooks had a career-high 43 points on Tuesday as Grand Rapids Catholic Central beat Wayland 90-77. Brooks, a junior guard, was 16-of-22 from the field and 11-of-14 from the free-throw line. He did not attempt a 3-pointer. Brooks has offers from Michigan and Michigan State. pic.twitter.com/FzAIOBo5YP
