NFL Draft: Patriots pick Alter grad Joe Thuney

The New England Patriots selected Alter High School graduate Joe Thuney with the 15th pick of the third round and the 78th overall pick of the NFL Draft on Friday in Chicago.

Thuney, an offensive guard from North Carolina State, was an All-American in 2015. ESPN’s Mel Kiper ranked him the 12th-best guard in the draft.

Thuney had the second-fastest 40-yard dash among offensive linemen at the NFL combine (4.95 seconds).
