Cleveland Indians Jay Bruce has been swinging a bat since he was in diapers and it shows with 34 home runs this season alone.

The outfielder has been making headlines since his trade to the Indians mid-season.

Here are some things to know about the 30-year-old:

Was a Dragon. In 2006, Bruce played 117 games for the Dayton Dragons, batting .291 with 16 home runs and 81 RBIs. Two seasons later he was in the majors.

MLB debut. Bruce's major league debut was in May 2008 with the Reds. In 2016, Bruce became the all-time home run leader in Great American Ball Park history with 135 home runs. The record was broken this year by Joey Votto.
