Clear skies, warmer weather coming Sunday; rain approaches early in week

Clear skies are in the forecast through the overnight hours with temperatures falling into the middle 50s by morning, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said.

Sunday: Lots of sunshine is expected, although more clouds will filter in late in the day and into the evening. It will be a bit warmer with highs near 80 degrees.

Monday: Clouds will increase with a threat for a shower or storm during the afternoon and evening. Highs again will be near 80 degrees.

Tuesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely. Otherwise, expect lots of clouds and highs in the upper 70s.

Wednesday: A mix of sun and clouds is expected with a slight chance for a lingering shower during the day. Highs will approach 80 degrees.

Thursday: Partly sunny skies are in the forecast. There is a slight chance for a shower late in the day. Highs will be in the upper 70s.
