“A Christmas to Remember” will run from Nov. 5 through Dec. 30. The 90-minute, one-act program will feature beautiful costumes, an imaginative set and crowd-favorite holiday songs, La Comedia Dinner Theatre president Joe Adkins said Monday.

As La Comedia is a restaurant that also offers stage entertainment, the rules for reopening are a little different than a traditional performance art indoor venue. Guidelines for those venues call for 15% capacity.

At La Comedia, the dining room setup will be adjusted and guests will not sit at a dinner table with other parties as they have in the past in order to maintain social distance. Groups of up to eight people can purchase tickets together.

The buffet service will also be changed, with all food plated by staff.

“Your taste of Broadway will begin with a signature salad served with our papaya chutney dressing, beer-battered fish and our sweet potato soufflé, along with additional selections from our traditional, holiday buffet (that) will now be plated by a La Comedia employee as you go through the buffet line,” Adkins said.

As its reopening approaches, La Comedia said it is committed to putting the safety of guests, staff and performers above all else, he said.

“This was our 45th anniversary season, 2020,” Adkins said “It didn’t go quite the way we hoped it would go, but we’ve got a 2021 season together, we’re going to announce it and we’re going to be back."

In March, La Comedia canceled its shows for the 2020 season. At that time, ticket holders were able to either request a refund or deposit the funds back into their La Comedia account. The refunded money in an account will be good to use through Dec. 31, 2021.

The theater plans to reveal the lineup for a 2021 La Comedia season on Nov. 5, premiere day for “A Christmas to Remember.”

“Some people are ready to come back, some are not. But we wanted to show them that we’re still committed to being here… we’re not going out of business,” Adkins said.

People can reserve tickets for “A Christmas to Remember” by calling the box office at 1-800-677-9505 or 937-746-4554 for more information. Tickets for the next season will go on sale to current subscribers on Nov. 16, and tickets for new and non-subscribers will go on sale on Nov. 30.
