Basket-weave technique of the ceramic-tile backsplash accents the gray cabinetry and light granite countertops of the kitchen. The table-top island has a single sink and seating for up to four.

Extra living space potential

2-story’s full basement plumbed for additional bath

Built with a few extras as a builder’s spec home, this brick-and-plank two-story features four bedrooms, an upstairs family room, an open concept main level and room to grow with an unfinished, full basement.

Listed for $499,900 by Irongate Inc. Realtors, the two-story at 9503 Whiterock Court has about 3,640 square feet of living space. Built in 2017 within the Wynstone subdivision of Washington Twp., the house sits on a corner lot with a side-entry driveway off the cul-de-sac.

The current owners enjoy the versatility of the upstairs loft as it became the family space while allowing the main level to be free for entertaining. Bonus space off the great room allows for an office, and the formal dining room and the casual morning room could be repurposed as well.

The basket weave detailing technique of the darker blue-gray ceramic tile creates a balanced contrast to the lighter kitchen cabinetry. Add the stainless-steel hook-vent above the gas cooktop and matching silver hardware, the kitchen has a soft contemporary décor.

Formal entry opens into a two-story foyer with dark hardwood flooring that fills the entire main level. Spindles accent the loft family room above, and the semi-open staircase is hidden from the main entrance.

To the right is the formal dining room, which has a tray ceiling and crown molding. Tall windows are at the front while two smaller windows add more natural light. A butler’s pantry has counter space for a coffee or dry bar area, and cabinetry offers storage space above and below the counter. There is also a walk-in pantry closet.

The butler’s pantry passes through into the kitchen where a wall is filled with cabinets, shelves and drawers. A stainless-steel hood-vent is above the gas cooktop, and cabinetry extends across the wall space ending at the morning room. Double wall ovens and a refrigerator are tucked off to one side and a large table-top island has a sink, dishwasher and seating for up to four. Light granite countertops complement the gray cabinetry.

A cathedral ceiling peaks above the morning room as windows fill the room and kitchen with natural light. Patio doors open off the morning room to a small deck with steps that lead to the back yard.

Open to the kitchen is the great room, which has a gas fireplace as its centerpiece. Mosaic tile and a wooden mantel surround the fireplace. A mudroom foyer has a built-in deacon’s bench with storage and locker nooks. Access to the garage is off this area as is a half bathroom and a bonus room, which is currently set up as an office.

The garage is L-shaped in design with an extra deep double bay door on one side and a single bay door on the other. There is a walk-through between the garage sections.

A door from the great room opens to the stairwell that leads to the basement. While unfinished, the basement does have an egress window and plumbing for a possible bath or wet bar area.

The home’s second level has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and a laundry room. The main bedroom has a vaulted ceiling with plant shelf. A hallway to the private bath provides access to a walk-in closet and a double-door closet before ending at the bath, which features a double-sink vanity and a walk-in, ceramic-tile shower with dual shower heads, window, storage nooks and glass accents.

Next to the loft is a second main bedroom, which has a private bathroom that features a tub/shower and single-sink vanity.

The upstairs hallway has a balcony feel with spindles accenting the stairwell and creating a smaller loft area outside the other two bedrooms, which share a Jack-and-Jill bath. A long hallway, with two separate single-sink nooks, connects the two bedrooms and provides a private access to the shared tub/shower and toilet room.
