The Ohio Craft Brewers Association is bringing its Halloween-themed Ale-O-Ween beer festival back to Dayton next weekend for its fourth annual event, which this year will include more breweries, more beers and a new venue.

The Ale-O-Ween party will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Dayton Convention Center, 22 E. Fifth St. in  downtown Dayton.

The event, which had been held at the Dayton Steam Plant the last two years, has grown in popularity, necessitating a move to a more spacious venue, craft brewers association officials said. The larger venue will allow for more attendees and more breweries than in years past, the OCBA said in a release.

This year, 43 Ohio craft breweries will be pouring samples of more than 120 beers, featuring seasonal styles, limited-release brews and popular favorites with names such as “Old Ghosts,” “Jack-O-Lager,” “Boo Juice” and “Gourd to Death.” Last year’s event drew about 40 breweries and about 100 beers.

Ale-O-Ween is a fundraiser for the OCBA, a nonprofit guild that exists to promote, preserve and unify Ohio’s craft brewing industry.

In addition to craft beer samples, Ale-O-Ween will feature live music by The AmpFibians and Team Void, face painting and tarot card readings. Food will be available for purchase.
