There are so many ways to get involved in the fight against breast cancer, big or small.
While the fight is year-round, October is full of special events.

1. Drink Pink
Heidelberg Distributing is giving back to Pink Ribbon Girls through its pink Michelob Ultra beer sales from Springfield and Dayton-area participating locations. Some places will even have pink beer on tap. Through Oct. 31.
2. PRG Motorcycle Raffle
Warrior Racing is raffling off a Pink Ribbon Girls branded motorcycle. Tickets are available at prgbike.givesmart.com. Proceeds benefit Pink Ribbon Girls. Drawing to take place at the end of October.
3. Pink ribbon bagels and bread
A portion of proceeds from each Panera pink ribbon bagel sold in October at Dayton locations will benefit Pink Ribbon Girls. More info: covelli.com/gopink
5. Klosterman Bread’s Pink with a Purpose
Pink With a Purpose hamburger buns, hot dog buns, dinner rolls and bread from Klosterman, a family-owned bakery headquartered in Cincinnati, are available in grocery stores in the Dayton and Cincinnati area. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Pink Ribbon Girls, with a goal of raising $15,000.
6. Quilt raffle
A pink ribbon quilt crafted by Koko Bellamy with inspirational words will be raffled, along with a hand-lettered globe created by Sarah Gillenwater that reads “No one travels this road alone.” Enter by Oct. 29. www.giveffect.com/campaigns/8217-prg-quilt-raffle-2018
7. Brighton Collectibles bracelets
This store at The Greene will donate $10 of each of their limited edition bracelet sales to Pink Ribbon Girls.
8. Fresh Thyme Giving Bag
Pink Ribbon Girls will receive $1 for each reusable bag purchased in October at Fresh Thyme locations in Beavercreek and Centerville.
9. Lee’s Buckets to Beat Cancer
Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken is giving $1 to Pink Ribbon Girls for each Buckeye Bucket to Beat Cancer with 25 jumbo strips ($25.99) sold through Dec. 31.
10. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
Dayton’s annual walk will take place at Fifth Third Field in Dayton on Saturday, Oct. 20, with registration starting at 8 a.m. and rolling start times from 8-10 a.m. The walk will benefit the American Cancer Society. More info: http://main.acsevents.org
11. Dropping the Gloves Against Breast Cancer
Dayton Fire Hockey and The Pink Ribbon Girls present Dropping the Gloves against Breast Cancer. Dayton Fire will take on Toledo Police in a hockey match, plus a celebration for breast cancer survivors and continue to raise awareness. Multiple items will be raffled off, and there will be an after party at Bar Louie at The Greene.
12. Rubi Girls Show benefitting Pink Ribbon Girls
Dayton’s beloved drag troupe the Rubi Girls will perform in a benefit for Pink Ribbon Girls and the YWCA purple purse at MJs on Jefferson on Oct. 20 at 8:30 p.m. Table reservations suggested and can be made by calling 937-223-3259.
13. Texas Roadhouse Pink Out Day
The Huber Heights location of Texas Roadhouse will have a Pink Out Day on Sunday, Oct. 21, with 10 percent of food sales donated to Pink Ribbon Girls. The PRG fire truck will be on site from noon to 4 p.m.
14. Cycle Bar Rock the Ribbon
CycleBar Austin Landing will turn its studio pink on Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 6:45-7:45 p.m. to promote breast cancer awareness and the Pink Ribbon Girls.
15. Frickers Pink Ribbon Girls Benefit
Fricker’s in Troy will host a silent auction fund-raiser from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 24. Gift baskets and donated items from local businesses will be up for grabs, with all money raised going to Pink Ribbon Girls. Wear pink.
16. Make a donation to Pink Ribbon Girls
You can donate year-round at www.pinkribbongirls.org/donate. Donation packages support services including meals and housecleaning.
17. Make a donation to Noble Circle
The Noble Circle Project is a nonprofit group supporting women facing cancer through education, energy techniques and peer support. The group, founded in 2003, relies on the generous support of individuals and organizations throughout the greater Dayton community to fund our programs and services.

18. Pink Ribbon Girls Paint the Town Pink 5K
Head to downtown Troy on Friday, Oct. 19, for a 5K run/walk and celebration with food trucks, a beer garden, live music and entertainment. The Paint the Town Pink 5K is from 6-11 p.m., with the run starting at 6:30 p.m. More info: Facebook.
