Rob Lowe is on record as liking burgers and pies from The Spot and pizza from Cassano's and Marion's. But as it turns out, the star also likes Dayton's finer tastes.

The Dayton- and Oakwood-raised actor ate Asiago chicken Milanese at Roost Modern Italian, 524 E. 5th St. in Dayton’s Oregon District, following his June show at the Schuster Center.
Oh yeah, he also made it to The Spot, a Sidney eatery once owned by his grandfather, during the trip.

Money was collected before and after his one-man show at the Schuster, “Rob Lowe: Stories I only Tell My Friends: Live,” to support The Dayton Foundation’s Greater Dayton Disaster Relief Fund.
The fund was established in wake of the Memorial Day tornadoes that caused havoc throughout the Miami Valley.

Comedian Sinbad visited the distribution space set up in the parking lot of Arena Sports Bar following the Memorial Day tornadoes.

“I know everybody thinks about it the first week. I know everybody thinks about it the second week, but if ya’ll could just keep Dayton in your prayers,” Sinbad said in a video captured by the Funk Center. “Not just your prayers ... Send help.”
The comedian was in the Dayton area for shows at the Funny Bone in Beavercreek.

Superstar comedians Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle, who lives near Yellow Springs, swapped stories about Prince during the first of two Juke Joints on Saturday, April 20, at the barn at Whitehall Farms in the Tecumseh Land Trust.
Other celebrities in attendance at the party included Saturday Night Live's Michael Che, A Tribe Called Quest member Jarobi White, comedian Michelle Wolf, Dave (Trugoy the Dove) from De La Soul, Bobby Z from Prince's the Revolution, jazz musician Robert Glasper, and David Banner, who did a freestyle rap through the audience.
Chappelle’s Juke Joint and his benefit show for WYSO 91.3 were the hottest tickets in town in 2019.

T.I. AND AZIZ ANSARI
Speaking of Dave Chappelle's Juke Joint, rapper T.I. and comedian Aziz Ansari were among the celebrities spotted during its second sold-out night, Sunday, April 21.
Hip-hop stars Talib Kweli of Black Star fame and Kardinal Offishall were also spotted Sunday, according to guests.

The Emmy-, Grammy-, Oscar- and Tony-winning singer, songwriter, actor and producer John Legend took the Oregon District shooting so personally that he headed there to show his support the week following the mass shooting.

The Springfield native told Bethany Ramsey and others at Puff Apothecary in Dayton’s Oregon District on Sunday, Aug. 11, how sad he was to be visiting the neighborhood to raise awareness about gun violence in wake of the Aug. 4 mass shooting there.

Following a shopping trip and a press conference, Legend gave a mini-concert at Blind Bob’s Bar for survivors of the shooting and others who were impacted by it.

In the wake of the worst shooting in Ohio history, as many as 40,000 people descended on the Oregon District for the Gem City Shine hosted by Dave Chappelle.

In the hours before the Gem City Shine, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and their children held a Sunday service at RiverScape MetroPark in support of the victims and survivors of the mass shooting in the Oregon District.

Tornado suvivor Ryleigh Manuel, 8, of Trotwood, found herself singing and dancing right next to Kanye, during the service led by the rapper and business mogul.
The West family visited the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery and were spotted at the Cheesecake Factory (twice!) at The Greene in Beavercreek.
