The new channel, which will replace VH1 Classic in the form of a rebrand, will have a heavy focus on '90s and early 2000s MTV programming.
Rolling Stone reported that Monday's launch date, Aug. 1, has significance as it's the day MTV launched in 1981.
The first hour of the channel's launch will be the same as MTV's first hour 35 years ago.
Following "MTV Hour One," MTV will air “The TRL Decade," which looked back on Total Request Live as the series ended in 2008.
Other programs set to air include "MTV Unplugged," "Cribs," "Daria," "Punk’d," and "Pimp My Ride." Weekend programming will focus on reality shows like full seasons of "The Real World," "Road Rules" and "Laguna Beach."
