Services set for sprint car legend

Clarence "Mutt" Anderson of Xenia died Thursday at 94.

Legendary sprint car builder Clarence E. “Mutt” Anderson of Xenia died Thursday morning, June 3, at Hospice of Dayton. He was 94.

Mr. Anderson worked on cars for drivers including Roger McCluskey, A.J. Foyt, Bobby Unser, Mario Andretti, Eddie Sachs, Troy Ruttman, Mike Nazaruk and Johnny Rutherford. Among his many racing accomplishments, Mr. Anderson was inducted in the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 1968, the National Association of Auto Racing Fan Clubs Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Dayton Speedway Hall of Fame in 2009.
