According to Ronald Hess, Township Administrator, the dog was not microchipped, and as of Friday morning the person who abandoned the dog has not been identified.
If found, that person would face charges of cruelty to animals, Hess said.
After briefly staying with a foster family, the dog was adopted.

Police asked that anyone who has information on the dog or who may have left it call 937-225-4357 and ask to speak with Miami Township police.
