A Dayton teen shot Wednesday was found with serious injuries after a woman called 911 to report that her son’s friend had been shot.

Crews were dispatched shortly after 5:15 p.m. to the 400 block of West Norman Avenue in Dayton.

“Somebody was just banging on my door, telling me they got shot,” the woman said, who identified the victim to a dispatcher as “one of my son’s friends.”

The teenage gunshot victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

Another 911 caller said she recorded cellphone video of people shooting at each other. She said the shooting happened in an alley in back of her home.

She saw one person involved running toward Rustic Avenue, and she believed he was carrying a gun.

“He was hurt. I could tell he was hurt,” she told the dispatcher. “He was limping, He was dragging his leg.”

It is not clear whether anyone else was hurt, or whether any arrests have been made.
