Rip Rap Road crash causes power outage

UPDATE @8:45 a.m. 

DP&L reports power has been restored to most of the 3,000 customers who were without electricity earlier.

About nine customers are still without power which is expected to be restored by this afternoon. Crews have to replace a damaged pole.

DP& L has confirmed the crash on Rip Rap and Powell roads in Huber Heights damaged a pole causing the power outage.

UPDATE @7:56 a.m. 

DP&L reports power has been restored to about half of the customers who were without power.

The company reports multiple crews are on the scene and are working to assess damage to pole and determine what repairs are needed.

Nearly 3,000 DP&L customers are without power in Montgomery County Thursday morning.

The source of the outage was not immediately known, but could be related to a crash at the intersection of Rip Rap and Powell roads in Huber Heights.
