The robber reportedly passed a note to a teller demanding cash, but did not display a weapon.
Police are asking hospitals to be on alert for any patients with burns and red dye on their hands after a dye pack exploded on the suspected robber.
The robber was described as white, between 50 and 60 years old, with a thin build and a short-trimmed gray beard, according to scanner traffic.
Amanda Moody, who works at a nearby medical office, said she was with a patient when she saw the suspect run out of the bank. Police have told her the dye pack was located next to her car, so she is unable to leave until the scene is processed.
