A 41-year-old man wanted after he did not return to the Warren County Jail from a court-ordered furlough was arrested Monday, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Jason N. Fugate is being returned to the jail, where he will be held on felony escape charges.

Fugate was jailed for allegedly not reporting an address change as required of convicted sexual offenders. He was ordered to return to jail May 9.

Inmates were furloughed as part of COVID-19 measures by the Warren County Common Pleas Court. It was unclear whether that was why he was released.

In January 2010, Fugate was sentenced to two years in prison for escape in Warren County, according to court records. A failure to report an address change charge was dismissed in February 2010.

It was unclear what case resulted in Fugate being required to report address changes. No sex offense was on file in Warren County
