Car door crushes woman's leg in Dayton complex

A woman's leg suffered an apparent crush injury after she was pinned by her car door Friday night in the DeSoto Bass Courts complex off West Stewart Street.

The injury happened just before 7:30 p.m. when the victim, described as a woman in her 50s, was inside her parked car with one leg sticking out of a passenger door. A woman driving another vehicle backed into a parking space next to the victim, hitting the door and causing it to crush the victim's leg, according to medics from the Dayton Fire Department.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injury.

Dayton police also responded to the accident. However, police said at the scene they are still investigating whether any charges are warranted.
