Convicted killer of Cathy Sano paroled

The man convicted of killing Kettering teenager Cathy Sano in 1981 has been paroled from prison after serving more than 30 years.

Christian Wells was found guilty of murder by a jury in 1984 in Van Wert County, where the trial had been moved in a change of venue.

Cathy Sano disappeared from the Wilmington Pike area in July 1981. Her skeletal remains were found near the Rollandia Golf Course, in Sugarcreek Township, in February 1982.

According to the Ohio Dept. of Rehabilitation and Correction, Wells was released on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015.
