The district’s assistant treasurer contacted police after KeyBank alerted the district to the duplicated checks, according to an incident report.
Someone tried to cash the checks at a Chase Bank, but KeyBank rejected the deposits.
The amount on the check and the payee were changed on the copied checks.
All three checks were made out to the same person, but they reportedly denied any knowledge of the attempted fraud.

The district did not lose any money in the incident, according to the report.
News Center 7 has reached out to the district for a statement on the incident. This story will be updated once a response is received.
In February, the district was scammed out of $5,000 after someone claiming to be Superintendent Elizabeth Lolli emailed the district's payroll department and asked to change her bank account, according to an incident report.
