Former Luxottica worker sent to prison

A former temporary employee for Luxottica was sentenced by a Warren County judge today to two years in prison after being convicted of identity fraud and aggravated theft.

Kennyetta Louis, 34, of Cincinnati, admitted guilt in making unauthorized charges on a Luxottica company credit card, according to a release from the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.

Louis formerly worked as a temp in the role of manager of corporate credit division for Luxottica Retail, according to the release.

Officials said Louis was notified about the death of a Luxottica employee and, instead of canceling the employee’s American Express card as directed, she called American Express and advised them to start sending statements to her home.

From July through November 2014, Louis allegedly charged $189,652 on the card for merchandise and services, including jewelry, appliances, new windows, airline tickets, hotel rooms, entertainment and dental services, according to the release.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Louis told investigators she did it because she felt she was underpaid.
