A grand jury is expected to hear the case involving the suspected ‘paper bag robber’.
Matthew Lopes Jr. waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Dayton Municipal Court today and his case has been referred to a grand jury, according to a court clerk.
Lopes bond was set at $75,000.

Matthew Lopes Jr. was arraigned today in Dayton Municipal Court on four counts of robbery and kidnapping felony or flight.
A preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. Nov. 23. Lopes was appointed a public defender today and his bail was set at $75,000.

Matthew Lopes Jr. was arrested in connection to the robbery at Speedway on South Dayton Lakeview Road and is also the suspect in three earlier robberies in the city of Dayton, deputies said.
Lopes Jr. is being held in the Montgomery County Jail until he can be arraigned on three counts of robbery in that county, according to deputies.
Clark County officials will be filing a warrant for his arrest in connection to this morning’s robbery in Clark County.
INITIAL REPORT:
A Speedway in Clark County was robbed early Thursday morning.
The robbery was reported around 2:45 a.m. at the Speedway in the 1600 block of South Dayton Lakeview Road. The robber was reportedly wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt and had a red bandana over his face. He put a brown paper bag over his hand and indicated he had a weapon, according to initial reports.
The robber's description is similar to a male who has robbed gas stations in Dayton recently. It's unknown if the same person is responsible for the robbery in Clark County today.
