Greeneview H.S. given all clear after bomb threat

A message containing a bomb threat found in a Greeneview High School bathroom led to students and staff being evacuated Thursday afternoon.

Greeneview Local Schools Superintendent Isaac Seevers said the note was time and date specific. "Something was supposed to happen today," he said.

School officials placed the school on lock down at about 1 p.m. then evacuated students to the middle school while the Dayton Bomb Squad investigated. An automatic alert message went out to parents.

No explosives or other dangerous devices were found in the school and the all clear was given at 3:20 p.m.

Students had already been dismissed from the middle school at 3 p.m.

Seevers said they will be able to access the school between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. today to retrieve belongings and vehicles left behind.

All evening activities are going forward as scheduled and classes will be held as scheduled on Friday.
