Gunman robs man of wedding rings in Dayton

Police in Dayton are using surveillance footage in an effort to identity the gunman who robbed a man behind the United Foods on North Main Street.

The victim told police the robber pulled a gun on him shortly before 10:30 p.m. Friday and demanded his possessions, according to the Dayton police report.

The victim left everything he had on the ground: Diamond wedding ring; ruby wedding ring; wallet; cash and credit card; vodka and cigarettes; and a smart phone, according to the report.

The robber gathered the stuff and ran away. A clerk in the store told police before the robbery the suspect came in and bought a piece of candy.

He then went outside and seemed to hang out near the parking lot, according to the report.
