Inmate who escaped in Fairborn ID’d

UPDATE @ 12:12 p.m.

The suspect has been identified as Heikiem Foy, 18, who is currently in Greene County Jail.

He was initially in custody as part of a breaking and entering investigation, according to Sgt. Mark Stannard, with the Fairborn Police Department.

After he escaped, Foy allegedly broke into a house on Central Avenue and could face additional charges, Stannard said.

No injuries were reported.

UPDATE @ 10:54 a.m.

The inmate has been taken into custody in the area of Hawthorne Drive and North Central Avenue, according to our photographer on scene.

A Greene County deputy transported the inmate back to jail. His identity has not been released.

Fairborn officers are searching several areas in the area of North Central and Whittier avenues after an inmate reportedly escaped.

Police were searching the back lots at the Fairborn Wright-Patterson Inn and at the Fairborn Hotel and Inn, according to our photographer’s observations.

Emergency scanner traffic indicated the inmate was wearing green and white stripes and was last seen in a parking lot in the 600 block of North Central Avenue.

Police in Fairborn are responding to a reported escape of an inmate who was last seen behind the post office, 67 W. Hebble Ave.

Officers were setting up a perimeter in the area and a K-9 unit was requested around 10:15 a.m., according to emergency scanner traffic.
