Police: Man in custody after he made threat with gun at Kettering apartment

UPDATE @ 1:15 a.m.

Police were called early Thursday to the 1900 block of Chimney Lane at the Chimney’s of Oak Creek apartments after a woman reported that her boyfriend made threats.

“He had a firearm on his body when he made these threats,” Kettering police Lt. Bradley Lambert said.

The woman left the couple’s apartment to report the incident to police, the lieutenant said.

After police responded, the man was taken into custody without incident.

“Shortly after we arrived on scene the suspect came out on his own with his dog,” Lambert said. “He did not know we were there.”

Kettering police did not identify the man. However, 36-year-old Matthew Wayne Loveless was booked into the Kettering Jail shortly before 1 a.m. on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of using a weapon while intoxicated, aggravated menacing and domestic violence, online jail records show.

FIRST REPORT

A man who reportedly had weapons was taken into custody early Thursday at a Kettering apartment complex.

Police were called to a report of a dispute sometime before 12:30 a.m. on Chimney Lane in the Chimney’s of Oak Creek, off East Whipp Road.

According to initial reports, the man had access to a handgun and assault rifle in the apartment.
