Missing child from Troy found in Las Vegas

A 4-year-old child missing from Troy since November was found in Las Vegas with her mother.

U.S. marshals arrested Eva Villamor-Goubeaux, 38, on Feb. 27 in Las Vegas, according to a news release. Officials returned the child to her father, the custodial parent.

On Feb. 5, the Miami County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for Villamor-Goubeaux for interference with custody.

The girl was last seen on Nov. 24, 2013, when the father returned the child to her mother after his scheduled visitation. Troy police later received information that Villamor-Goubeaux possibly had fled the state with the girl. In January, there were reported sightings of the two in New York.

The U.S. Marshals Service office in Dayton was asked to assist with the case. Investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service in the Dayton and Las Vegas offices determined that Villamor-Goubeaux was working in Las Vegas as a home health care provider.

After days of surveillance, deputy U.S. marshals arrested Villamor-Goubeaux without incident. She will remain in a Las Vegas jail until she is extradited back to Ohio.
