One of two men wanted in 2009 double slaying arrested in Michigan

DAYTON — U.S. Marshals arrested a 31-year-old Dayton man Thursday night in Michigan on a Montgomery County murder warrant for a 2009 double-slaying.

Kenneth Pope Jr. is one of two men wanted in the March 17, 2009, slayings of Gerald L. Brown, 39, and Dennis A. Glover, 27, who were found in the living room of a house at 515 N. Broadway St.

Also indicted Tuesday by a Montgomery County grand jury was Terrence Snowden, 37, who remains at large.

According to Dayton police, a tip to the department’s crime line led marshals to Michigan.

According to news accounts of the time, Glover and Brown each had been shot, one in the head the other in the torso. The shootings stemmed from an argument, and police were looking for two suspects, according to Sgt. Gary White, then head of the homicide unit. White has since retired.

Both Glover and Brown were pronounced dead at Miami Valley Hospital.

According to court records, Pope is a convicted car thief who also served four years in prison for aggravated robbery and burglary. Pope was released from probation on a cocaine trafficking charge in May 5.

Snowden served six years for aggravated robbery and has an outstanding warrant on a possession of crack cocaine charge from 2009.
