Police make arrest in stabbing case

HAMILTON — Hamilton police arrested a man early Thursday, Sept. 17, in connection with a stabbing Wednesday night in the 700 block of Walnut Street.

Jae Boyd, 20, of 725 Walnut Drive was arrested at 2:15 a.m. Thursday. He is charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony. He is being held on $12,541 bond in the Butler County Jail.

Lorenzo Franklin, 22, of South G Street, was stabbed at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, with a 4-inch butterfly knife that pierced the right side of his chest, according to police. Police say he was in an altercation with Boyd, and there was a large crowd at the scene when police arrived.

He was flown to the University Hospital in Cincinnati with wounds police said did not appear to be life-threatening.
