Police say bullet that hit house was random

Police say a bullet that shattered a bedroom window of a house was fired from a long distance away and likely wasn't targeted at the home.

Dayton police responded to the Miami Chapel Road home after a woman reported hearing a gunshot at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a police report.

She said she found two of her bedroom windows shattered, and officers found a bullet in one and a BB gun pellet in the other, according to the report.

Officers said the incident appears random.
