Surveillance released from Kettering Marco’s Pizza robbery

Kettering police have released surveillance images of the suspect that robbed the Marco’s Pizza on South Smithville Road Saturday.

UPDATE @ 1:40 a.m. (Nov. 6):

Kettering police are looking for a man they say robbed a Marco’s Pizza at gunpoint Saturday night.

No one was hurt in the reported armed robbery, according to Lt. Kevin Kavanaugh with the Kettering Police Department.

An unsuccessful K-9 search in the area of the business was initiated after a man dressed in all black was seen running behind bushes of a neighboring business.

The suspect is said to be 5’7”, 140 pounds and wearing dark clothing, according to Kavanaugh.

This this is the third robbery in this area of Kettering in the past week, and Kavanaugh said police are working to learn if the crimes are connected.

Video surveillance from the store will be downloaded to learn more about the robbery, Kavanaugh said.

In armed robbery situations Kavanaugh said the best course of action is to do as the robber asks to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

UPDATE @ 11:30 p.m.

Police are canvassing the area tonight for the suspect who held up Marco’s Pizza.

An officer reportedly spotted the suspect shortly after the robbery jump a fence behind a nearby business. A K-9 unit has been requested to help track the robber.

FIRST REPORT

Police are searching for a masked gunman tonight who robbed a Marco’s Pizza.

Crews were called around 11 p.m. to the business, 2400 S. Smithville Road, on a report of an armed robbery.

The suspect reportedly showed a small handgun and fled on foot. No injuries were reported.

A K-9 unit also was called to the scene.
