Second suspect wanted in Trotwood abduction case arrested

DAYTON — The second suspect wanted in connection with an aggravated robbery and abduction case handled by the Trotwood Police Department is in custody, according to Montgomery County Jail records.

Trotwood Police Capt. Erik Wilson on Thursday identified the suspect as 19-year-old Terrance Cummings. Cummings is in jail, pending an aggravated robbery charge for an incident that occurred on Nov. 23.

Police believe Cummings was one of two men, armed with handguns, who approached two other men in Trotwood and forced one of the victims to hand over his vehicle and then forced the 19-year-old Jefferson Twp. man to ride with them.

The other suspect was identified as 24-year-old Antwane S. Cochran. He turned himself into the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office on Tuesday. Cochran is being held, pending charges of aggravated robbery and abduction.

Police believe the victim told Cochran and Cummings that he had just purchased the vehicle and that the two suspects were stealing the vehicle because they believed the vehicle was stolen from one of their relatives, according to Trotwood police.

The victim said the two armed suspects drove him around and threatened his life while searching for paperwork related to the vehicle purchase.

The 19-year-old was able to escape after the suspects drove him to a second location.

Cummings was caught Monday by the SOFAST Task Force, which is run by the U.S. Marshal’s Office. He was arrested in the 1000 block of Cherrywood Avenue in Dayton.
