Suspect sought in Miamisburg liquor store robbery

A man who said he had a gun robbed a Miamisburg drive-thru liquor store and carryout of cash on Wednesday night.

The robber, wearing a mask that covered his hair, walked in at the Railroad Express, 110 S. Riverview Ave., at about 8:11 p.m. and took an undetermined amount of cash, a Miamisburg police sergeant said.

The lone employee was not injured in the incident during which the robber threatened that he had a gun but did not show one, the sergeant said. The employee told police he believed the assailant was 6 feet 3 inches tall and about 250 pounds. He told police he noticed the man was wearing denim jeans and a striped shirt as well as the mask.

According to police, the employee said he remained in the establishment and so could not specify whether the robber walked or drove away. K-9 units from Franklin and Mason were called in and a search was launched, but to no avail.
