Marshals also arrested his brother, Joseph Rosebrook, 59, on Monday in Florida, where he is in jail awaiting extradition to Geauga County, according to detectives.
The two are suspects in the May 2006 homicide of Daniel Ott, 31, of Chardon, in Geauga County.
Ott was shot and killed in his home by a masked intruder. His girlfriend was the only witness to the crime, according to media reports at the time. Geauga County detectives didn’t return calls seeking comment.
Authorities have charged a third person in connection to the death, but haven’t released that person’s name.
Joesph Rosebrook has a criminal history in Logan County.
He was released from prison in March 2014 after serving 10 years on a conspiring to commit aggravated murder charge. Logan County detectives said Joseph Rosebrook was charged with running a “chop shop” and a large criminal enterprise. While out on bond for that case, phone records indicated he attempted to have a hit-man hired to kill a key witness in the case, detectives said.
