Miami Twp. plans to buy nearly 12 acres of land on Ohio 741 north of the Dayton Mall.

Trustees Tuesday night approved a measure to allow the township to purchase land along Springboro Pike from Zengel Development Co. for $1, according to the township.

The land includes a dead-end area that could become access to a neighborhood off Ohio 741.

The land is north of the White Allen dealerships along the east side of the state route, according to Miami Twp. Development Director Chris Snyder.

Snyder said the township has no immediate plans for the land. It has been in the Zengel family since the 1950s, according to company President Jim Zengel.
