Key findings to know about Miami Valley fire services ‘grade card’

A study commissioned about the Miami Valley Fire District indicates the joint venture started earlier this decade between Miamisburg and Miami Twp. should become permanent.

That’s an issue expected to addressed next month, fire district board Chairman John Stalder said, as officials in both communities assess the study, what he calls the district’s “grade card.”

-A predictable, unified funding mechanism is required;

-Regional dispatch integration still needs improvement;

-District leadership structure is a work in progress;

-Staffing levels need to be reviewed;

-Training programs need expanded and enhanced;
