Wires down in the Bellbrook and Sugarcreek Twp. area Friday evening caused 2,500 Dayton Power & Light customers to be without power, some for the second time that day.
Crews were dispatched to the area of Franklin Street (state Route 725) and Bonniedale Drive, Mary Ann Kabel, DP&L director of corporate communications, said.
The incident was reported around 5 p.m.
Major retailers affected included Walmart, Aldi, Staples and the gym Anytime Fitness.
When wires are down, always assume the power lines are live, Kabel said.
Do not touch them, and report a downed line online to DP&L or by calling 877-4OUTAGE.
