Officers are investigating two cases, where residents at Bethany Lutheran Village were listed as victims involving stolen credit cards, according to records.
“Prior to her hire and per standard procedures, Graceworks at Home did its due diligence in completing BCI and FBI background checks,” said Allyson Crawford, spokeswoman for Graceworks, which operates both Bethany Lutheran Village and Graceworks At Home. “These reviews did not indicate any problems with (the suspect) and Graceworks At Home was unaware of any facts that (the suspect) might engage in criminal conduct.
The home health aide was arrested last week, but has been released from custody pending a decision by a Montgomery County Grand Jury, police said.
“We take this matter very seriously, and after a confidential internal investigation, (the suspect) is no longer employed by Graceworks At Home,” Crawford said.
The victims in the cases are both in their 70s, police reports show.
If a grand jury indicts the suspect, she would be facing felony charges.
