Computer Troubleshooters sets up first permanent location in Beavercreek

Computer Troubleshooters, an Information Technology company that has served the greater Dayton area since 2011 celebrated its first anniversary on July 10 by opening its first permanent location on at 1255 N. Fairfield Rd. in Beavercreek.

“The timing was right and the resources were available to take the big step. It was scary, but in retrospect, it was the right decision and it was nothing of which to be scared. It’s just different, and very liberating,” said President and CEO Cliff Brust.

The owner: Before going into business for himself Cliff Brust, 52, Beavercreek made his living developing systems and software for defense contracts. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Dayton and completed graduate studies at Wright State University in Systems and Electrical Engineering

What they do: Computer Troubleshooters offers desktop and laptop computer repair, virus removal, slow computer speed-ups, network installation and setup, remote support and repair, training classes and materials, with in shop or onsite service. They serve residential customers as well as small and medium business such as home based offices, medical offices, insurance agencies, and automotive repair shops.

How they got started: “My wife and I wanted to control our own destiny and not be subject to the ever-occurring defense layoffs that occur when contracts are lost and defense budgets are cut,” said Brust.

He said that in the beginning they didn’t have an actual location and built up a clientele by helping out a few people with computer problems and networks. They also managed software development groups and I.T. groups for defense contractors.

What sets them apart: Brust says what sets them apart is their customer service, turnaround time, and prevention-based philosophy.

“We try and educate people on their computer/network so they can take care of issues themselves and don’t need outside computer services as often,” he said.
