"A few showers are possible in the evening as a warm front moves through," Simpson said. "We'll stay fairly cloudy overnight with a shower or thunderstorm possible, and humidity will rise."
Overnight temperatures will drop into the mid-60s.
SUNDAY: There will be clouds and some sun, but it also will be warmer and humid with highs topping out in the low to mid-80s.
"We'll have some scattered showers and thunderstorms, but it will not rain the entire day; there will certainly be some dry periods to perhaps hit the pool," said Simpson, adding that rain may increase a bit at nighttime.
MONDAY: Rain and thunderstorms, especially south is expected; the far north may stay dry if the current track of the system holds, Simpson said. It will be mostly cloudy with highs near 80s. "We may dry out late day or evening, but it will only be temporary," Simpson said
The rest of the workweek
Waves of low pressure will head through from west to east the rest of the workweek, Simpson said, bringing rounds of showers and thunderstorms.
"Timing these right now is next to impossible, but what we do feel confident about is that the cumulative effect of the rain will be positive for the area as we are getting a bit dry," Simpson said.
Rain between 1 and 3 inches is possible, but the rainfall will be spaced out enough that flooding should be avoided, he said.
It will be warm and humid with highs in the 80s. After the rain clears out, the possbility of a 90-degree day may exist next Saturday.
