The fire was primarily localized to the back of the house, according to fire officials, and spread to a tree in the backyard. Investigators are working on scene to determine a cause.

Firefighters in Dayton battled a fire at a house where a man was shot to death in June.
The house in the first block of Patton Avenue is now vacant, according to a fire official. It was heavily damaged in the fire, which is now extinguished.
Crews remain at the scene to investigate and assess damage.
An air truck responded to the scene to help firefighters in the hot, muggy weather conditions.
The home was previously occupied by 37-year-old Travis Smith, 34-year-old Nina Mirjuana Davis, and the couple’s four children.
On June 29, Smith was fatally shot at the home. It was his birthday. Davis was arrested the same day on suspicion of murder.
Investigators said the two had been arguing for days and the conflict escalated and resulted in Davis shooting Smith.
Police said there were children present in the home when the shooting occurred.
Davis, who’s being held on $1 million bond, is due in court this morning, according to online jail records.
Fire officials said no one had been living in the house, but there were children’s toys visible on the back deck.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

Firefighters in Dayton are on the scene of a house fire in the first block of Patton Avenue Tuesday morning.
Crews were dispatched around 7:55 a.m. and have reported smoke from the structure and an active fire in the rear of the house.
Our crew heading to the scene said smoke was visible from U.S. 35 from this fire.
