An electrical malfunction on a stove sparked the fire, officials said. Two upstairs apartments sustained about $1,500 in smoke damage.

FIRST REPORT
A Dayton house was damaged by a fire early Monday morning.
Fire crews responded to the house on McReynolds Street in Dayton around midnight. A fire was reportedly in the basement.
Several fires were reported in the Miami Valley Sunday, including in Fairborn, Springfield, Moraine and Washington Twp.
