Initial reports indicate at least 10 shots were heard in the area before the two shooting victims were located.

“Homicide detectives were requested to the scene and are working diligently to piece together what has occurred and to locate the individuals involved,” Dayton police Lt.  Jason Hall said in an emailed statement.

Hall also was known as Dayton-area rapper Mic Lansky. The intersection of West Hillcrest and Salem avenues has been crowded throughout the day with dozens of people paying respects and adding to a memorial erected near the intersection.

No arrests have been made and it was not known whether police have identified any suspects.
