Five Rivers, which opened its new Bike Hub at Riverscape this year and is a key partner in maintaining, expanding and supervising the Miami Valley’s system of recreational trails, was listed among 111 new bicycle-friendly business that “actively promote bicycling for transportation, recreation, exercise and sport.”
More than 340 businesses in 40 states were named, including four others in Ohio — three businesses in Columbus and one in Cincinnati.
Five Rivers is the only park district in the country on the list.
In 2010, the City of Dayton achieve bronze-level status as a bicycle-friendly community. There are also silver and gold levels.
