Great Wolf to add new water slide

MASON — Great Wolf Lodge, the indoor water park and resort, will debut a new five-story water slide in time for spring break.

The new Triple Twist water slide is under construction at the Great Wolf Lodge and spokesman Steve Shattuck said they plan to open it in early March. Riders will drop into a tunnel and fly through many twists and turns and two additional tunnels.

It is the first new slide to be added at the lodge since it opened in 2006 in Mason next to Kings Island.

“We are always looking for new and exciting things to add to the resort to give our loyal guests a reason to come back,” Shattuck said.

The tubes for the 12 slides at Great Wolf are constructed on the outside of the lodge and the Triple Twist will be attached to an existing tower, according to Shattuck.

Great Wolf is holding a “First Family” Sweepstakes where the lucky winner will be the first rider on the slide and the Triple Twist will be named after the winning family.

In addition, a room at the lodge will also bear the family’s photo and surname and they will get two overnight stays at the resort.

Great Wolf is also adding new slides at its Kansas City and Pocono Mountain resorts. Shattuck said the total investment company-wide is $4 million.
