High temperatures result in uptick of heat-related illnesses

With high temperatures  scorching the area and Independence Day celebrations drawing people outside, local hospitals are starting to see more patients with heat-related illnesses.

Premier Health saw three people with health-related illnesses Wednesday in their emergency departments, with two at Miami Valley Hospital and one at Upper Valley Medical Center.

Premier Health did not have any cases of heat-related illnesses reported at their urgent care locations.
