The region’s biggest country music super fest is up for a major award.

Fort Loramie's Country Concert has been nominated for an Academy of Country Music Industry Award for "Festival of the Year." It is one of the ACM's Industry Awards. Categories include venues and events. Industry Awards, Studio Recording Awards and Special Awards are presented to recipients at the 12th annual ACM Honors. ACM Honors will take place on Aug. 22 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. The event is open to the public, and ticket on-sale information is forthcoming.

Other nominees for Festival of the Year include Country Thunder in Florence, Ariz.; Faster Horses in Brooklyn, Mich.; WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn.; and Windy City Smoke Out in Chicago.

Country Concert organizers said in a statement: “We owe this nomination to and share it with the fans, superstars— their agents, road crews and  teams— sponsors, organizations, everyone that helps and trusted friends that have been with us for every or nearly every Country Concert.”

K99.1FM, a product of Cox Media Group Ohio, is a partner in the annual country fest.

“This is a well-deserved recognition for the folks at Country Concert in Fort Loramie. K99.1 FM has been a proud partner for many years, and we are thrilled for the Barhorst family. It's a wonderful testament to what Mike started many many years ago,” said Nancy Wilson with K99.

The 2018 Country Concert is set for July 5th, 6th and 7th, with some of the biggest names in country music including Toby Keith, Eric Church, Brad Paisley, Billy Currington and many more.

Country Concert has been one of the premiere country musical festivals in the Midwest since 1981. With attendance consistently in the tens of thousands, it’s no surprise that the event is being recognized in such a prestigious way.
