>>> Huber Heights standoff suspect indicted on charges
Cameron was found guilty of one count of abduction, a third-degree felony, Wednesday.
The court proceeded directly to the sentencing, according to the release.
The charge stemmed from a May 12 incident in which Cameron reportedly held a woman at gunpoint at her residence while her children were home.
Huber Heights police were dispatched to the residence, and hours later Cameron surrendered to the police, read the release.
“This defendant told the victim that he would shoot the police if they showed up the residence,” said Montgomery County Prosecutor Matt Heck. “Thankfully, the hostage negotiation team was able to end the situation without anyone being injured.”
